It’s a little Moroccan town within the Sahara, not too far away from the Algerian border. It’s referred to as the door to Erg Chebbi, an enormous stretch of sand dunes south of town.
Merzouga is such an iconic place to go to in Morocco that it’s considered one among the simplest destinations within the country!
I was there five years ago and couldn’t resist visiting this charming little village another time this year. I pitched my tent within the desert trip marrakech, got lost between the dunes, drank much tea and saw more camels than I could imagine.
